What makes a job description work
Most job ads fail for the same three reasons, and all three are fixable before you publish.
- •They list duties instead of outcomes. Candidates cannot tell whether they would be good at the job, so the strong ones move on.
- •They pile up requirements. Every extra must-have shrinks your applicant pool, and it shrinks it hardest among the candidates who already doubt themselves.
- •They hide the process. Saying what you assess and how long it takes costs you nothing and increases completed applications.
The generator handles the third one for you: every output includes a “how we hire” section with the criteria that actually predict performance in that role, an equal opportunity statement, and a short, honest note about how applicants’ data is used.

Is the job description generator really free?
Yes, and there is no sign-up. The generator runs entirely in your browser, so there is no per-use cost for us to pass on and nothing to gate behind an email address.
Does my input get sent anywhere?
No. The company name, location and salary range you type stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged, which also means there is no personal data to protect under the GDPR.
Does it use AI?
Not in this version. The output is built from structured templates written by hand for each role, which makes it instant, predictable and free. We would rather give you a solid draft you can edit than an unpredictable one you have to fact-check.
Should I include a salary range?
Yes. Posts with a stated range attract measurably more applications, and the EU Pay Transparency Directive is pushing European employers towards stating one anyway. If you leave the field empty, the generator inserts a reminder rather than a number.
Can I edit the result?
You are expected to. Copy it or download the Markdown file, then replace the paragraph about your company and adjust the requirements. The template deliberately marks the parts only you can write.
